The Joseph Center® was established in 1998 as a result of a vision given to Bill Winston, Pastor of Living Word Christian Center, to provide practical teaching utilizing biblical principles, resources, and a state-of-the-art environment that produces successful Christian entrepreneurs who will create income and employment opportunities for others. Through the wealth and job creation that entrepreneurship and vocational training can provide, this, in turn, would assist in the rebuilding of the inner cities. The Joseph Center® not only benefits those who have the education and exposure to start a business, but provides job skills and training for others who desire to work-- breaking the cycle of poverty and the widening economic gap. The programs are primarily designed to train and support entrepreneurs and organizations in starting or operating a successful business enterprise. Today, The Joseph Center® is one of the few organizations in the Chicago metropolitan area that links small business development to financial services and vocational training.

The Joseph Center's unique approach provides a solution that not only creates economic development through the establishment of entrepreneurial businesses, but it also restores self-esteem and a sense of hope and dignity to all of its participants.

As you may be aware, Joseph was called by God and was blessed in the area of business and government. God raised Joseph out of slavery and made all that he did to prosper. God elevated Joseph to govern Egypt, which at that time was the greatest world power. Joseph was second only to Pharoah among men. Even Pharoah recognized that Joseph was under the anointing of God.

We believe that entrepreneurship is a calling from God and The Joseph Center® is an instrument in the hand of God to help train leaders that will make His plan for this earth a reality.

The Joseph Center® provides a "one-stop" shop for emerging businesses and entrepreneurs that will create jobs, stimulate the economy, and train men and women to contribute to the economy's recovery and vitality. The Joseph Center® consists of three divisions: The Joseph Center® for Business Development, The Joseph Business School, and The Joseph Plan. Additionally, The Joseph Center® hosts the Annual Business & Leadership Conference (since 1994) designed to inspire and motivate individuals to pursue higher levels of excellence in leadership and business.
